What qualifications do you need for admission?

If you want to be admitted to doctoral studies you need to have completed courses for at least 240 credits, of which at least 60 must be for second-cycle courses and study programmes, or possess a second-cycle degree, a corresponding degree from outside Sweden or the corresponding qualifications.
The structure of higher education has three levels:
  • first cycle
  • second cycle
  • third cycle
It is possible to get credit for certain second-cycle studies but not on the other hand to give students preference because they are considered to be able to get credit for their earlier studies of professional activities so that they will not need to spend so long on their doctoral programmes.
